Modular buildings can be delivered quickly, can be configured "at will" for minimal cost, can be relocated, and offer tremendous flexibility. Modular buildings are traditionally manufactured in a factory before being shipped to their final location. Depending on the project specifications, anywhere from 60% to 100% of the building can be produced prior to delivery.

When people think about modular building spaces, they probably think of unadorned trailers, like those located behind many schools across America. The reality is that modular describes the process of manufacture, not the outcome. It is this assembly process, like building a car, which brings about flexibility of design, cost savings, and quick production times.
Another misconception is that modular buildings can only be one or two stories high. The reality is that modular design and construction can be utilized for multi-story designs, including complete stairwells and elevators.
One of the primary benefits of utilizing the modular approach is time savings. Traditional construction methods require work at the building site to follow a linear progression of site preparation, foundation, and then construction. The modular approach breaks this linear model into two parallel processes: site preparation and foundation occur at the site; construction occurs at the manufacturer's factory.
Modular buildings combine the traditional building techniques and inspections associated with the construction industry: the contractor's quality control process in addition to local, state, and national regulations. However, modular buildings also have inspections at the factory, inspections by third-party agencies, and must be durable enough to be shipped from the factory to the build site. The added fact that modular buildings can be reused, which require new inspections and shipping prior to relocation, add more layers to the quality control process than most traditional structures are subject to.

One of the best features of modular construction is the ability to move the structure from one site to another as needed. For many modular customers, adding a structure is a temporary solution to a short-term goal. With that in mind, USMGE™ offers a full range of services to support the transportation of modular buildings to, or from, your site.
